BFW - Not too bad.

April 9th, 2008 by Tabatha

It’s Wednesday, but it’s not as bad as the Wednesdays before it. I’m working on willing myself to have a good day. Enjoying whatever it is I’m doing, even if what I’m doing is freight at work for 10 hours, makes the day go smoother and quicker. It’s not that nothings going wrong, because things definitely are, it’s that I’m learning to take those things with a grain of salt and move on.

I was going to buy a DS for work, but I went with the classic magazine and an Etch-a-Sketch instead. The magazine kept me entertained for a couple of hours. that’s way longer than most magazines because I read the whole thing. It’s called “Real Simple” and it is absolutely the best magazine for me ever. there’s a lot of cleaning and organizing and life-balancing going on. I strive to lead a simple, uncluttered life and there are articles in there that actually help that instead of telling me what heels I can wear with a white pants suit.

And on the topic of enjoying life, I found a quote in a Clinique ad:

“We should all do what in the long run, gives us joy, even if it is only picking grapes or sorting the laundry.” -E.B. White

Awesome Stuff, anyone?

Yerba Mate - Possibly the best thing ever? I’ve been drinking it for about a week, and where are my allergies? I don’t have a clue, but they’re gone. Also, it steeps in bottled water. Convenient like whoa! Sharon says I must be from Uruguay because I can drink it all day and then sleep at night.

Earth.us - Cutest flippity flops evarrr

eye.fi - wireless memory card. uploads your photos when you walk in your house. I need wireless interwebs now. Just for this.

Pandora - Makes radio stations for you. I like last.fm’s radio better, but there it is.

BFW- Days of the week and the worst one yet.

April 2nd, 2008 by Tabatha

wednesday.jpgI hate Wednesdays. Seriously. It’s like Mondays for most people x10. First, I have to go to work. Not so bad. Not so bad, at least, unless you know you have to be there for 10 hours! Ten hours compared to my usual 6, tops. 10 hours at GNC is an Eternity. Ia ctually enjoy my 6 hour days. They’re usually short, I work mornings so I get to have my afternoons to do whatever, and I get to talk to someone during overlap. It’s nice. On Wednesdays, no one ever comes in. Not until I get bored and start reading or maybe have to pee. Then they come in by the group. By then, it feels liek they’re interrupting me. Interrupting whatever I was doing to wait for them to come in.

I talked to my manager and she’s betting on $60 in commission. I’m expecting more like $10, like my usual Wednesday. On a regular 6 hour day I make about $20-$40. On a 6 hour day. While I make $10 on a 10 hour day. Make any sense? To repeat what I told my boss, “the Wednesday gods have it out for me.” I wonder what a suitable sacrifice to them would be for a day-of-the week god. Wednesday panties? A 5 year old and a Labrador maybe?
