Sick offo kciS

June 14th, 2008 by Tabatha

buried.jpgI’m so sick of being sick. So sick, in fact, that I OD’d on narcotic cough syrup last night and have spent my day in a big old loop. Or maybe I was trying to kill myself because someone accidentally called me… *gasp* Rebekkah. *GASP* Which, I understand, there are some similarities. It still makes me sick to my stomach.

There’s a waterski competition today in Zachary, and I’d really like to go but I have so much crap to be doing. Better crap, honestly. Like Elisha’s birthday party and Karaoke with Tammy. Not me singing karaoke. No, never. Laughing at people singing karaoke.

I had considered going to ‘the river’ today, but I would have puked all in the water and that’s just nasty. My pepperoni pizza lean pocket made me throw up earlier, so I can’t imagine what the not-so-delicious sunshine beaming down on my sick-as-shit body would do to me. That lean pocket was delicious! My stomach thought not.

Insomkneestock-3

March 9th, 2008 by Tabatha

cimg8119.jpgGary, Jamie and I went to Insomkneestock-3 last night. It probably would have been a blast if it hadn’t been FUCKING FREEZING! What a perfect time for a cold front to come through. Also, maybe would have been more fun if more people I knew were there. Pretty much all we had was Jonathan for 5 minutes and Gary’s ex-girlfriend, who was either pretending I wasn’t there, or being a bitch (nothing new). It also adds something to the story to say that it was a perfectly pleasant day today. Not cold, not hot. I was going to go hiking in Tunica Falls, but I figured since last night was so miserable, then today had to be cold. Nope. Wonderful out. Now I feel too much like crap to go hiking anyway. It will hopefully be a long time before I feel this much like crap again. Detox, for sure!

I have a couple of pictures from Insomkneestock, but I haven’t taken them off the camera. I mean it when I say a couple, too. It was too cold for photography. I took a picture of the cars and of the Broadmoor, then put the camera up.  We pretty much sat in the car the whole time we were there.

Let’s see… Seth lost his first tooth. It’s adorable. For your viewing pleasure, I made it the post photo.

Maybe next Saturday I’ll go hiking. I’ll probably want to wait until the next week, though, since I have a 3-day weekend.

Wow…

February 8th, 2008 by Tabatha

I haven’t done anything in the past few days.  It’s Friday and it still feels like it could be Monday. I’ve done things since last Friday, but not nearly enough to amount to a whole week.

Friday night, Gary and I met Nicole and Brooke at The Industry, which used to be The L Bar. I’m not too sure if it’s both L and The Industry now. I think that’s how it is. It’s a little confusing. Lots of margaritas, shots of X vodka, and some really gross Absinthe. Yuck, yuck, yuck! Afterwards, Gary and I went to Louie’s. I had coffee and he had potatoes and it took us over 2 hours to finish them. I won’t give too many details on exactly why, but it was good times anyway.

cimg7402.jpg    Saturday was the Spanish Town Mardi Gras Parade. It was surprisingly hot that  day. Almost uncomfortably hot because of the way i was dressed. We waited around for friends that never showed up  then watched the ridiculously long parade. It’s not that it wasn’t fun. It was. I was just really tired and hot. Oh and not to mention the guy sitting in a lawn chair in front of us yelling “HEY HEY HEY HEY” at every float that passed, the whole time they passed. Also, Seth wasn’t really into the parade because they weren’t throwing candy. He eventually just sat on the ground and waited until the end. The poor child sometimes makes me think he’ll never adjust to Louisiana. He hates spicy food, doesn’t understand Mardi Gras parades, crawfish boils are a mystery to him. The list could go on and on. Maybe he’ll catch on one day. Maybe he’ll be able to eat Tony’s without crying when he’s a little older. Maybe we’ll move away before he gets a chance to. One can only hope. ;)

The rest of the week is  honestly pretty much a blur. Last night was Badfish, but no one else was going so I stayed home, too. I’ve been dying to see them, but I don’t want to end up bored because there’s no one to talk to. I hate doing things alone. I’d usually rather just not do them. Tonight is The Bravery and Dax Riggs at The Varsity, but I probably won’t go to that, either. We’ll see.

Catching Up

January 28th, 2008 by Tabatha

cimg7221.jpg It’s been a bit. I guess getting over that really bad night took a little longer than I thought. There was screaming. There was crying. There was door slamming. Not fun. Scary. It’s over now, and I remembered St. John’s Wort, thanks to a commenter. Thank you, Erika. I haven’t given Seth any yet, as he seems to be doing O.K. right now, but It’s helped me feel better.

Saturday, Gary and I went to a Martin Atkins seminar at Insomkneeacks. It’s mostly directed towards musicians, but there was a good amount of information that applied to any entrepreneur/artist/promoter/businessperson/regular guy. He’s also pretty funny. Partly because of his sense of humor and partly because he’s neurotic and appears to be afflicted with ADD.  It was 100%  good experience. It’s a shame more local musicians were there; he could’ve helped improve the music scene. It certainly needs help.

Today was full of eating ice cream, taking pictures of a farm, watching Sex and Breakfast and cleaning up. Tonight was drinking homemade spiced cider, playing rummy, and my feet freezing on the porch. I’d say it’s a good Sunday. Seth was good. I wasn’t tired all day. It will feel good to go to bed, though.

The photo is of a small field with 3 cows in it. The colors haven’t been touched up. The contrast was gorgeous. The color of the grass is so pretty. There will be more photos on my Flickr soon.

Leo from ZenHabits (one of my favorite blogs. top 2 if not #1)  recently opened a new blog. It focuses completely on writing, and is geared towards all types of writers. Check it out at Write To Done.
